Therapy, also known as psychotherapy or counseling, is a collaborative process where a trained mental health professional helps individuals navigate emotional challenges, mental health concerns, and life transitions in a supportive and confidential environment. It's a way to gain insight into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and develop healthy coping mechanisms and strategies to improve overall well-being.
We help with the match! Our intake coordinator gets information about why you are coming in. We will then help make the best match based on your needs.
Yes, you can make a request. We will do our best to honor it, however, we may suggest a different psychologist based on their expertise and goodness of fit.
Our typical sessions are for 50 minutes. This is referred to as a "clinical hour" allowing the psychologist the remaining 10 minutes for notes.
Typically, we schedule weekly sessions. As goals continue to be met, the frequency may be decreased. Alternatively, if the need arises, additional sessions can be added. This will be discussed openly with your psychologist.
Psychological assessments use a range of scientifically devised tests and procedures to help understand a person’s strengths and weaknesses, pinpoint potential issues, and provide recommendations for treatment or remediation.
Some people call with a specific request, while others are unclear on what is needed. Either way, you'll speak with our assessment intake coordinator who will help clarify the type of testing needed. Additionally, once you have started the testing process, we can always make changes to the testing. We provide flexible options in order to answer the questions that arise.
Our office does not take insurance directly. Therefore, all services require out-of-pocket payment at the time of service. However, we will provide a superbill which will allow you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Our clinicians would be considered out-of-network providers.
A superbill is different from the receipt. The superbill includes additional information that your insurance company requires for possible reimbursement for an out-of-network provider. The additional information includes the diagnosis, NPI number, tax ID number, and clinician information. We provide superbills and will help explain the process for you to submit to your insurance company.
Our psychologists provide a high level of care in session and out of session. All of our providers are at the doctorate level. We work hard to collaborate with other professionals involved in your or your child's care such as primary physicians, specialists, psychiatrists, guidance counselors, and other therapists.
